Freight Logistics Q&A Update Amid COVID-19 - Part 2

As you know, the past few weeks have been extra trying to say the least. Our goal has always been, and continues to be, keeping you up-to-date on the latest in our industry including burning questions we have received for both US imports and CA imports. Last week we sat with our Freight Operations Manager to shift focus onto our freight clients who have also been facing challenging times. Here is Part 2  of that Q&A interview with Alex.

Q. Have freight rates been impacted by COVID-19?

Freight rates in all forms of transportation have been changing weekly and daily because of the virus. The biggest impact to date has been the cost per kilo out of China because of the reduced air capacity. We also are anticipating increases in ocean freight rates as the demand changes and the economy normalizes.

Q. Is it possible to secure temperature controlled trucks for my perishable cargo coming into Canada?

At this time our trucking team has had very little issue with capacity of securing trucks for perishable cargo. As a 3rd Party Logistics provider we have access to a vast number of dedicated carriers . We are so grateful to all these carriers and drivers who are working through this difficult time and keeping our supply chain flowing.

Q. How do I book a shipment?

The best way to book a shipment is to give us a call! We have a dedicated team of freight forwarders and a strong agency network. We pride ourselves on customer service and look forward to hearing from you.
